20th May 2006 Windsurfing: WSM Wind Direction: W Wind Stength: F6 Surf / Sea State: biggish waves Air Temperature: Sea Temperature: Weather: Max Speed: Distance Covered: Mixed day, really. Excellent wind (4.7m on 78l JP wave), some huge ramps gave huge air, but I was so creamed so quickly & then went & spoiled things by hitting my knee with the mast. Very hard. Very sore. Was dead chuffed earlier-on - following Peter Hart's advice on gybing on Thurday eve, I threw myself into a gybe & pushed out with front hand rather than pulled back with back hand. I screamed round on the plane, came out, switched feet, & found I was still planing. I was so surprised, I almost fell off. Ice packs on the knee all last night - it's a bit easier today but still badly bruised. |
